Understanding confidence labels
What Official, Community verified, and Visual match mean on MiruMichi location pages — and how to use them when planning a trip.
Every indexed stop carries a confidence tag. It tells you how directly we can tie the real-world place to a published anime reference — not whether the neighborhood is fun to visit.
A Visual match at a beautiful station can still be a great travel stop even if the exact screenshot angle is uncertain.
- 01 Official
Tourism boards, studio materials, or licensed location maps name the place explicitly. Use these when you want the strongest public attribution.
- 02 Community verified
Multiple independent fan sources, long-running pilgrimage guides, or consistent Anitabi/community pins agree on the match. We still recommend confirming sightlines on site.
- 03 Visual match
Architecture, rail layout, or geography clearly resemble a scene, but naming is indirect. Treat these as editorial context until you compare on location.
How labels affect photos
Comparison frames on location pages may come from community databases or editorial reuse when APIs are unavailable. Read the image credit and notes under the comparison block before republishing screenshots.
If a label is Visual match, prioritize your own on-site photo over expecting a pixel-perfect anime overlay.
