How MiruMichi handles basic site data, contact messages, analytics, and advertising technologies.
Effective date: August 11, 2026
Data controller
MiruMichi (mirumichi.org) is operated by an independent editorial team publishing anime pilgrimage travel information for Japan. For privacy questions, data requests, or consent concerns, contact [email protected].
Information we process
MiruMichi is designed as a public information site. The initial version does not require user accounts and does not collect sensitive personal information.
When visitors browse the site, standard hosting logs may process basic technical data such as request time, page path, browser type, and approximate network information for security and reliability.
Analytics, maps, and advertising
If analytics or advertising tools are enabled, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies to measure visits, prevent abuse, personalize ads where permitted, and report aggregate performance.
MiruMichi uses Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads. How Google uses data from partners is described in Google's advertising technologies policy.
Visitors can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and can also control cookies through their browser. Some advertising partners may provide separate opt-out tools.
Map pages may request map tiles and attribution resources from third-party map providers. Those providers may receive technical request information needed to deliver the map.
Contact messages
Messages sent to [email protected] are used to review corrections, location suggestions, rights concerns, and editorial feedback related to the site.
Choices and updates
Visitors can control cookies through their browser settings. If additional advertising, analytics, or consent-management partners are added, this policy will be updated to describe the provider and the purpose of use.
EEA, UK, and consent
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regions that require consent, MiruMichi uses Google Consent Mode with advertising cookies denied by default. Ads are treated as non-personalized until a visitor accepts optional advertising cookies in the on-site consent banner.
If a visitor rejects optional advertising cookies, MiruMichi keeps consent signals denied for ad storage, ad user data, and ad personalization. If a visitor accepts, those signals may be updated so Google can serve personalized advertising where permitted.
Consent choices are stored locally in the browser so the banner does not need to appear on every page view. You can reopen the consent banner at any time from the Cookie settings link in the site footer, or by clearing site data for mirumichi.org.
